Veteran Appreciation Meals

Gateway to campus near the Nebraska Union.

University Housing & Dining Services is thankful for all University of Nebraska–Lincoln students, faculty, and staff with Veteran status.

To show our appreciation we're pleased to offer Free complimentary meals; on a first-come, first-served basis, to students, faculty, and staff with Veteran status on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Cather, East Campus, and Harper Dining Centers.

Pre-registration is required to claim a free meal. Student, faculty, and staff members with Veteran status must claim their free meal by 11:59 p.m. CST on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

Individuals of Veteran status can claim one (1) meal. If more than one meal is claimed, the most recent registration will be used/assigned to the user's NCard account.

Registrants will need to present a DOD ID or equivalent proof of service, prior to swiping their NCard to claim their free meal at the dining center.

Students who already have a meal plan do not need to sign up. It is included in their meal plan.

How it Works:

  1. Student, faculty, and staff members with Veteran status must select the location at which they would like to enjoy their meal from the options available below.
  2. Once a selection has been made through UNL Marketplace, University Housing & Dining Services will add that complimentary meal "ticket" to the individual's NCard account.
  3. To claim your complimentary meal, you will go to the dining center specified on Friday, November 10, 2023, for any meal and scan your NCard at the check stand. Registrants will need to present a DOD ID or equivalent proof of service, prior to swiping their NCard to claim their free meal at the dining center.
  4. Enjoy your Free complimentary meal, courtesy of University Housing & Dining Services!

Reminder: Your complimentary meal will be attached to your NCard, so remember to bring your NCard to be scanned at the entrance to the dining center.
